So was noticing on my Garmin 530 - all the reported s/w revisions:
Main SW 4.00
GPS SW 3.01
COM SW 6.00
VLOC SW 3.01
G/S SW 2.03
LAND DB World 1.01
How does one update this software? Any idea where to find out what the latest released versions are from Garmin? It doesn't show up at http://www.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp
Is this something I shouldn't even worry about? Searched the net without luck. I guess the PC world has trained me to always be watching the revisions of the code I'm running.
Any help appreciated......

Interesting question...
The software for the Garmin 430/530 is located in hardware, i.e. in ROM inside the GPS. Software updates are rare and if they were to occur they would be announced via an airworthiness directive or service bulletin and the upgrade would not be something an owner could perform himself.
