My Cessna P210 is a 6-seat, pressurized aircraft based in Waynesburg, PA (KWAY) near Pittsburgh.  It can hold 875 pounds (pilot, passengers, dogs, and cargo) for a flight of 500 miles.

I tend to have a very busy schedule but will do my best to help out with specific requests.  In general I will try to combine rescue flights with pre-planned flights I take with my family or my flight students.  Aside from teaching flying and practicing medicine, our family has  11 pets, most of which were rescued from various sources.

Contact me at rkaplan@flyimc.com or by cell at 724-880-2948.

Thank you so much for creating this air rescue service! it is a wonderful thing you are doing. i have placed state-to-state rescues via volunteer ground caravan transports for years. it is a very difficult and stressful job to get 10 or so volunteer drivers all on the same schedule. and sometimes the whole transport has to be rescheduled several times, as it only takes 1 or 2 unfilled legs to force the cancellation of the whole trip, if either driver on either side won't pick up the missing leg.  i just recently had to get a dog out of a kill shelter in one day (mid Ga to mid Fl). there was no way i could pull a ground transport together that quickly, so i drove up and got him myself and drove him back - an 18 hr roundtrip. i'm still exhausted, and it's a week later! maybe next time i have such an emergency, this service could help me. thanks again for the good work you're doing.

Laura,

You are very welcome.  We are trying our best to put pilots and rescue groups together to fulfill what we all feel is a very worthwhile program.  I never would have dreamed that a discussion between me and a friend of mine who is a pilot could turn into such a huge venture in such a short time!

New pilots are coming on board everyday, at least as I look through the pilot board it appears that way, so hopefully when you need us for that special needs animal or emergency situation a pilot will be able to help you.

Another big thanks to Rich for allowing us to be a part of his forum!
