When arriving via general aviation for IFR recurrent training or full-motion simulator training at Flight Level Aviation, the easiest arrival airport in Day VFR conditions is KWAY (Waynesburg, PA) -- look for the maintenance hangar with the checkerboard roof and the simulator office is connected to that hangar.  For night or IFR arrivals, I recommend arriving at KMGW (Morgantown, WV), where Avis and Hertz are on-site for the 30-minute drive to KWAY.  If you are arriving by airlines then I recommend Pittsburgh (KPIT) -- usually Southwest Airlines has the least expensive fares to KPIT.  The drive from KPIT to KWAY is 60 minutes.

Rental cars are available at KWAY by advance arrangement via Enterprise at (724) 627-7722.

I recommend pilots stay at Comfort Inn Waynesburg PA (724) 627-3700.  In good weather this is an easy 10-minute walk from KWAY -- I can then pick you up here on the morning your training starts.   A Bob Evans restaurant is almost adjacent to the Comfort Inn and there is fast food and a small Chinese buffet within a 15 minute walk or pizza delivery available to the Comfort Inn.  If more upscale dining options are desired, then a rental car is recommended.

For pilots with early morning commercial airline departures from KPIT the day after training, it may be much more convenient to stay in Pittsburgh the last night of training.  The most convenient way to do this is to stay at the Pittsburgh Airport Hyatt , which is the only hotel physically inside the KPIT terminal.  Depending on the season this hotel can be  quite expensive, however ($200+).  There are also a number of moderately priced hotels near KPIT with shuttle van service to the airport, such as the Coraopolis/Pittsburgh Airport Hampton Inn .

Driving Directions from KMGW:  Take I-68 West to I-79 North exit 14/Waynesburg.  Go East on Route 21 (left turn off the interstate ramp).  Comfort Inn will be immediately on your right, followed by the airport on your left.  Look for the maintenance hangar with the checkerboard roof; the simulator office is connected to that hangar.

Driving Directions from KPIT :  Follow airport signs for Route 60 South to I-79 South.  Take I-79 South exit 14/Waynesburg.  Go East on Route 21 (left turn off the interstate ramp).  Comfort Inn will be immediately on your right, followed by the airrport on your left.  Look for the maintenanace hangar with the checkerboard roof; the simulator office is connected to that hangar.

International Pilots:  There are some international flights to Pittsburgh though often it is easier to connect to Pittsburgh through Washington, DC (Dulles - KIAD) or via New York City (Kennedy - KJFK).

Medical Exams:  As I am an aviation medical examiner, some students find it convenient to include a flight physical at the time of recurrent training.  I am glad to do so although the physical exam needs to be done in my Uniontown PA office -- in that case please let me know of your preference so that we can arrange for you to stay overnight in a hotel close to my medical office and thus do the flight physical early  in the morning on one of your training days.
